Harvest Highlights: What’s Fresh in Your CSA Box This Week | Autumn CSA Week 2

Bee in Herb Garden

Welcome to the second week of our CSA program!

We're thrilled to present a bounty of fresh, local delights that highlight the best our community's local farms have to offer. From the vibrant colors of heirloom tomatoes to the earthy richness of oyster mushrooms, and everything in between, it’s a culinary adventure waiting to unfold.

Farm Fresh Focus: Elderberries

This week, we're particularly excited about our harvest of wild elderberries. Not only are they delicious, but they're also packed with antioxidants and vitamins. Stay tuned, as we will be preparing elderberry syrup to ensure we're all stocked up for the winter months ahead. Need a simple elderberry syrup recipe? Mix elderberries with honey and a splash of lemon juice, then simmer until it becomes a syrupy consistency.

Last Call: Currant Tomatoes

Sadly, this is the last week for our tiny but mighty currant tomatoes. Their unique flavor will be missed, but we are already looking forward to their return next year. Toss them in a salad or eat them as a snack—they're versatile and packed with flavor!

Coming Soon: Turmeric and Ginger

We're also gearing up to dig our turmeric and ginger, perfect for adding a zesty kick to your dishes or for their numerous health benefits.

Life on the Farm

As we head into the second week, we're reminded of the beauty of farming—every week brings something new. Whether it's the ripening of a long-awaited fruit or the first sprout of a new vegetable, it's a constant journey that we're glad to share with you.

Have a wonderful week, and happy cooking!
