What is CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture, CSA, is a valuable program that helps to directly connect organic and healthy produce from our farm and local farms, to your kitchen. In Spring 2014, Stone Hollow Farmstead began its CSA program to share our love for eating fresh with our valued friends and clients.
Our program begins every year in March. Membership is divided into four seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter / Holiday. Shares can be purchased by season or collectively as an Annual share. Every Tuesday members' shares of produce and local food items are prepared for pickup at The Pantry or one of our other local partner locations.
Our CSA Model
Fresh and certified sustainably grown products will travel from our Alabama farm, as well as from other local farms, to grace your table each week with the best that local has to offer. However, we can’t grow it all! We love working with other local farmers that we know by name to source your families' foods each week.
When you purchase a CSA share from Stone Hollow Farmstead, it will include a variety of produce, along with herbs, SHF cannery products, fresh bread, and occasionally dairy products. Add-on shares of cow’s milk, cheese and/or yogurt, hen eggs and fresh cut flowers are available. No two weeks are the same. We take pride in keeping the shares diverse and exciting, all while supporting local farms.
We will begin our nineteenth season in 2019, and we have learned a few things along the way to make us better. One way we help our members on their food journey is to supply recipes and a weekly update from Stone Hollow Farmstead. There is never a dull moment at the farm, and we want you to be a part of our journey! You can find the weekly recipes, moments on the farm, and more on our blog, Tuesday Table.
