From Planting to Plating: Week 7 Highlights at Stone Hollow Farmstead

As we usher in Week 7 (!!) of our CSA at Stone Hollow Farmstead, we are thrilled to update you on the bustling activities and vibrant produce that fill our farm. This week, our fields are alive with the planting of new varieties of Dahlia Tubers—a project that fills us with anticipation for the floral beauty we plan to add to our tuber offerings next year. Amid the flurry of planting and shipping Dahlia cuttings and tubers, our team is diligently managing the ever-important task of weeding!

Our Sweet Peas, aiming to reach the skies at 10 feet, are on the verge of blooming—a sight we eagerly await. Our new puppy, Dolly, is embracing farm life with a penchant for mischief and mud. Meanwhile, our chickens are on a laying spree, producing a bounty of rainbow eggs, which we're excited to share at The Market at Pepper Place this weekend.

Turning to this week’s CSA box, we’re pleased to provide a selection of fresh, locally-grown delights. From Stone Hollow Farmstead, enjoy the crispness of freshly picked strawberries, a mix of salad greens, aromatic onions and herbs, eggs, and our soothing herbal wellness tea. Our farmer friends have come through with some gorgeous spring goodies: Chard and radishes from Love Light Farms, Ciabatta Bread from Hinkle’s Bakery, Asparagus from Habersham Farms, and gorgeous Mushrooms from Grandview Farm! Additionally, this week’s regional find from Georgia includes sweet peas, rounding out a box that’s bursting with seasonal flavors and farm-fresh goodness.

As always, we invite you to visit us at our retail store, FarmStand, located at Pepper Place. This weekend, we will also have our farm tent set up at The Market at Pepper Place, where we’ll have our Dahlia offerings, potted herbs, and a variety of flowers ready for your garden.
